| Dear Colleague, I am pleased to inform you that the 1st International Conference on Mechanics of Composites will be hosted by Stony Brook University, Long Island, New York, USA. The Conference will take place from 8-12 June 2014. I will co-chair the conference with Professor Fu-Pen Chiang, Distinguished Professor at Stony Brook University. Stony Brook area is just wonderful, and very close to New York City. Stony Brook University is easily reached by car. International delegates can take a train directly from JFK airport. Budget Airline Southwest Airlines offers scheduled flights to Long Island Airport. The prices of accommodation are very reasonable, hotels and students dormitories have already been blocked for the conference. Details will be given later. We will organise several tours to NY and museums, Long Island Vineards and Hamptons Bays, as well as Port Jefferson and Ferry Trip to Connecticut. After the conference, you can submit a full-length paper for review and possible publication in Composite Structures ( an international journal by Elsevier).
