INSPEC and NASA Indexes World Scientific’s Books and Proceedings

World Scientific Publishing Company’s (WSPC) books and proceedings will now gain greater coverage in the scientific community following INSPEC’ s and NASA's abstracting and indexing.

In addition to its current inclusion of over 60 of World Scientific and Imperial College Press's journals in its Database, INSPEC will now index World Scientific’s books and proceedings in the areas of Physics, Engineering, Computer Science and related subjects. Key index terms derived from books that are published from 2009 will be integrated into the INSPEC Database and built with web links to the original articles at World Scientific's website.

NASA Astrophysics Data System (ADS) will include World Scientific's proceedings in Physics, particularly in Astronomy, in its bibliographic database on a continual basis.

-------------------------------

About INSPEC

INSPEC is a major indexing database of scientific and technical literature, produced by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). INSPEC has a global coverage of over 11 million records containing abstracts and subject indexing covering scientific and engineering literature from quality global literature from 1969, in the fields of physics, computing, control, Power, Telecoms, mechanical engineering and production engineering. Over 4000 scientific and technical journals and some 2200 conference proceedings, as well as numerous books, reports and dissertations are scanned each year by INSPEC staff for relevant articles to abstract and index for inclusion in the Database. INSPEC Direct is a web-based portal for the INSPEC Database, available directly from the Institution of Engineering and Technology.

About NASA ADS

The Smithsonian/NASA Astrophysics Data System (ADS) is a Digital Library portal for researchers in Astronomy and Physics, operated by the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (SAO) under a NASA grant. The ADS maintains a bibliographic database of more than 8.5 million records, covering Astronomy and Astrophysics, Physics, and Instrumentation.  The ADS database contains metadata records for hundreds of journals, publications, colloquia, symposia, proceedings, PhD Theses, and NASA reports. For each bibliographic record in its database, the ADS maintains a list of links to relevant resources, including: the full‐text of the article, its references, citations, and readership‐based statistics and recommendations.  ADS currently have links to over 8.5 million records maintained by their collaborators.
